Founded Women's Athletics at Iowa, served as Athletic Director, 1973-2000; supervised a coaching staff that won 27 Big Ten Conference titles; won an NCAA field hockey title, 1986; 10 coaches earned League Coach of the Year honors; Reached the NCAA Championships in 10 of 12 women's sports; Oversaw Women's athletics budget growth from $3,000 to $3.5 million in 25 years;  Broke the NCAA women's athletic attendance record with 22,157 fans for basketball game; hosted NCAA Basketball Regional, 1987, 1990, and 1993; 90% of Women athletes received degrees from Iowa; Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women President, 1979-82; National Association of Collegiate Women's Athletic Administrators President, 1987-98; Olympic Field Hockey judge, 1980; Grant Field and Hawkeye rowing Varsity Eight boat named in her honor. Inducted into the Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006.
